Summer 2008

Happy Birthday – L’Epée Coaching & Consulting Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary

This summer marks the 10th anniversary of L’Epée Coaching & Consulting.

It is hard to believe how fast the time has gone by.

This milestone is not only cause for celebration, but it also offers me the chance to reflect on le chemin parcouru, as we say in French, or the path we have traveled together.

It also gives me the opportunity to celebrate the contributions that my clients, students and business friends have made in my ongoing expanding business.

Looking back, the international emergence of coaching over the last 10 years has also been felt strongly on the Czech market. A decade ago, not too many people knew what coaching was or what benefits a coach could bring to an organization. Today, many companies look for the support of coaches to help their executives and managers improve their performance and achieve a higher level of success.

To reflect the growing interest and active participation of coaches in the Czech Republic, two recognized coaching associations have been established: CAKOand the Czech chapter of the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

During these last ten years, I have been actively involved in both executive and management coaching and have seen a steady increase in the number of clients and nationalities represented in my activities. For example, when I began L’Epée Coaching & Consulting in 1999 people from eleven different nationalities took part in my events; today that number has grown to 40.

I have also tried to consistently broaden my services in response to requests from clients and the evolution of the market.

In addition to my core executive and management coaching and my corporate customized training programs, four years ago I started to incorporate public speaking skills, presentation skills as well as networking skills training in my corporate programs. My plans now include expanding to storytelling skills in the near future. The objective of these training programs is to help my clients improve their overall leadership skills as well as their chances for greater success.

I would also like to mention that my Power Lunch series will continue for a fifth consecutive year. The Fall 2008 Power Lunch series will focus on The Hidden Forces That Shape our Decisions, which will be based on Dan Ariely’s book “Predictably Irrational”. Dates for the series are as follows: September 2, October 7, November 4 and December 2.

Finally, I would like to thank you all for contributing to the success of L’Epée Coaching & Consulting. I look forward to sharing more opportunities for learning and growth with you in the years to come.

Sincerely,

Karin
