As the holidays are quickly approaching, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who supported Bluebird initiatives this year. Thanks to your generous contributions and participation, Bluebird had a busy and successful year.
Bluebird’s primary aim is to help children by working with currently existing charity organizations. Bluebird members contribute their free time as well as skills in their particular areas of expertise. Currently, the association has 11 members of 7 nationalities.
This year, Bluebird (www.bluebird-nadace.cz) organized a fundraising dinner on the occasion of Noruz, the Middle Easter New Year, to help raise money to build a computer and science laboratory for the children at Mount Kailash School in the Tibetan Refugee Settlement Camp of Tashi Palkhiel in Nepal.
The association also held communication and management seminars for La Strada (www.lastrada.cz), a nongovernmental, nonprofit organization targeted at finding solutions to the problem of trafficking in human beings.
The latest project involved raising money for the construction of a shower in the client support center for Projekt Sance (www.sance.info), a nongovernmental organization providing support to underprivileged youth living on the streets.
Bluebird also contributed to the success of the International Charity Bazaar organized by the Diplomatic Ladies’ Association (DLA) on December 5 at the Hilton Hotel by helping to find sponsors and donators.
Last but not least, Bluebird will make sure that the youngsters helped by Projekt Sance will have a good Christmas, as it did the past two years.
If you did not have an opportunity to participate in Bluebird initiatives this year, we look forward to your involvement with similar projects in the future.
